DURHAM -- A one-mile widen of the Durham Freeway, N.C. 147, will be sealed to trade late tonight for building a whole of a footbridge nearby the Alston Avenue overpass.
Freeway trade will be rerouted around Briggs and Alston avenues from eleven tonight to 5:30 a.m. Thursday.
The city demolished an deserted walking overpass last year and is scheming this week to reinstate it with the $2.2 million Downtown Gateway Bridge. Its a steel arch, anchored with red-brick pillars, that will heat blue at night.
Two some-more night trade closures will be scheduled in entrance weeks to finish the work.
